About Heart & Stroke NB Bingo

Updated: Oct 3, 2022

Heart and Stroke NB Bingo began in October, 2020. In that time, it has grown to become a Monday night ritual for many people across the province. Heart and Stroke NB Bingo has not only become a staple to the community but it has become a major supporting initiative to the Foundations mission to Prevent Disease, Save Lives, and Promote Recovery.

When we think of Bingo, we are quick to imagine the rush and passion of a community run Bingo hall. I can picture the feelings of the anxious thoughts of yelling when you have a bingo, the luck of the perfect place to sit, and the crowd of people who are there for the exact same reason you are. Unfortunately, Covid-19 was not a fan of such experiences.

"It offers New Brunswicker's the perfect place to sit every week and a new found excitement of dialing the phone when they're a winner."

In 2020, Covid-19 directly impacted us all and continues to do so. While Bingo halls began to close and people began to remain indoors, fundraising initiatives and community events also hit a rapid decline. The community and Heart and Stroke NB needed to be brought together. After many months of planning and preparation, Heart and Stroke NB Live Streamed Bingo was finally ready to meet that need for us all.

Now, a year and a half later, Heart and Stroke NB Bingo has established its own community of regular players, families, and supporters. It offers New Brunswicker's the perfect place to sit every week and a new found excitement of dialing the phone when they're a winner. To top it all off, the proceeds from your Bingo card purchases stay here at home and help The Foundation improve the health of New Brunswicker's.
