Leaving a Heartfelt Legacy

Sam and Fay Ridgley lived quietly, but their impact was anything but small.

In the words of their nephew, Sid Ridgley, they were “unfailingly kind, polite and decent”. They believed in doing good without drawing attention to themselves and carried that belief through every part of their life.

Sam, originally from Newfoundland, and Fay, from New Brunswick, met in Ontario and built a life together grounded in simple, meaningful values. They were known as people you could count on. Many described them as the definition of good neighbours, always showing up for others with care and consideration.

That same spirit is reflected in the legacy gift they chose to leave. Their decision was a natural extension of how they lived each day, guided by kindness and generosity.

As Sid shared, their legacy reflects who they were and how they lived.

Through their legacy gift, Heart and Stroke New Brunswick can continue its work across the province, supporting healthier lives and stronger communities.

In the end, the legacy Sam and Fay leave behind is not only in their gift, but in the example they set through a lifetime of quiet generosity.
