Heart & Stroke’s Basic First Aid is designed to prepare you, as a workplace first aider, to recognize an injury or illness, call and inform emergency medical services (EMS), and provide basic first aid care to the injured or ill worker.
Employers and organizations decide on their first aid course based on their jurisdiction’s regulatory requirements, so before you choose a course to fulfill a workplace first aid requirement, talk to your employer or organization.
The main differences between our Basic First Aid and Intermediate First Aid courses are the depth of content, duration of courses, time allocated for practising skills and number of topics covered.
